We had Open House at Howard Elementary. The PTO provided a picnic of hotdogs and drinks for the children and their families. The children drew their faces and we placed them on their chairs so when the parents came to visit our room, they could see all the happy faces of the children in our class. Mrs. Stites' mom and dad came to visit too. Her dad used to be a principal and a teacher, and her mom used to be a secretary in the Marion Community Schools. Mrs. Stites' dad has only missed one Open House out of all of the 30 years she has been teaching!

Mrs. Stites' Summer vacation
Welcome back to school. I thought I'd share something fun I did over my summer vacation. While in North Carolina, my boys and I went white water rafting on the Nantahala River. We hiked a little way on the Appalachian Trail, saw white squirrels in Brevard, and hiked up Bald Rock. We had a great time. I'm anxious to hear what all my new first graders did on their summer vacation. I hope we are all rested and ready for a brand new and fun school year!
