Special Person of the Week

Our special person of the week lives in a blue and white trailer, with his mom, his dad, and his brothers. He has a cat named Fancey. His favorite color is black because after it is cold you can wear black in the winter and get warm. His favorite subject is Gym because they play Star Wars. His favorite TV show is ‘Bakugan’ and his favorite book is Star Wars the Clone Wars. He likes to eat pancakes. He likes to play video games and Bakugan. He feels happy when he is at home. When he grows up, he would like to be a Football player because you can get good money. If he could go anywhere in the world, he would go to South Carolina. He feels he is special because he is funny. He feels the best thing about him is that he shares. Something important about him is that he is a twin.

Our Butterflies are Free!

Our class watched caterpillars grow daily. We were fascinated as we were learning the life cycle of a butterfly. Our caterpillars eventually hung like a 'J' from the top of the jar, and then formed a chrysalis. We were fortunate to be able to watch several of the butterflies hatch. When we were letting them go, we couldn't find one. It was hanging on to Mrs. Stites' shirt. We learned that the process of changing from a caterpillar to a butterfly is called metamorphosis. What a fun learning experience!

Mother's Day

We worked hard making a fun surprise to give our mothers on Sunday. We hope they have a Happy Mother's Day!

Walk-a-thon

The children at Howard Elementary School raised money for the Parent-Teacher Organization by walking in a walk-a-thon. Each child sent out envelopes to family and friends, and collected sponsors for the walk. Our school raised almost $4,500.00. The money will be spent for the children next year. Each child received a free shirt that was paid for by sponsors. Afterwards the PTO provided the children with water and treat. A fun time was had by all!
