Captain Cosmic teaches about Space

Reporting facts he researched about the Sun.

Telling facts she researched about Venus.

Being careful not to knock into Asteroids!

Telling Captain Cosmic facts about Uranus.

Tilting on our sides like Uranus.

Holding on to our hair because there are high winds and storms on Neptune.

We went to a Distance Learning about space presented by the Challenger Learning Center in Brownsburg, Indiana.  Each child researched facts about a planet, asteroids or comets.  Then we reported what we learned to Captain Cosmic.  She taught us more information about the planets and presented it in a fun way.  What an interesting way to learn about Space!

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day

Our class celebrated St. Patrick's Day.  During the night a leprechaun left clues around the room, and played little tricks to let us know he had been there.  We found the pot of gold under a desk!  Yummy treats.  We followed directions to make the leprechaun hats.  Suddenly we felt like happy little leprechauns!

Learning about Water Safety

Getting ready for our water safety instruction.

Learning to do 'bobs' and blow bubbles.

We learned how to do the flutter kick.

Fun going off the diving board and swimming to the edge of the pool!

Mrs. Stites, Mrs. Britten and Mrs. Myers enjoyed helping the children learn to swim.

Our class enjoyed traveling to Northwestern for water safety classes.  We learned to bob, get our faces and heads wet, do the front glide, back glide, flutter kick, front and back float, free style and back stroke.  Some children went off the diving board.  Mrs. Stites dove off the diving board as the children cheered her on! They were impressed!  Even teachers can swim and dive!  Fun days!
