Santa Lucia

The children in Mrs. Stites' classroom studied 6 countries around the world.  They made crowns of lights and learned about Santa Lucia Day while studying Sweden and the festival of lights. 

Santa Lucia's day in Sweden

We celebrated Santa Lucia's day in Sweden a little early this year. It is on December 12th. We made a crown of candles and learned that the oldest daughter would wear a crown of candles and serve each person in the house tea and crumb cakes early in the morning. We also made huge Santa Clauses to hang outside our room. It was a 'Listen to me and follow my directions' project. All the Santas are ready for Christmas now. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Celebrating Santa Lucia's Day for Sweden

We celebrated Santa Lucia's Day... which is celebrated in Sweden on December 12th. We had fun making wreath hats with candles.
